The idea behind this design is to revive the television's place in a room as a piece of furniture instead of an appliance. We buy furniture to put the TV on, instead of seeing it as standing alone as a piece. I wanted to give the television character, and looked at a lot of television sets from the 1950's. I based my idea on that aesthetic, but used a modern and minimalistic approach. The remote control is a simple dial. There is one big button for the power, and the dial turns left or right for adjust the channel or volume. This is to support the minimalistic approach of "less is more". When not in use, the remote fits into the space on the top right of the TV.
